Chelsea Reherman

Chelsea Reherman focuses her practice on the abuse and mistreatment of people in jails and prisons.  She also litigates the use of excessive force by police and Border Patrol.

Since joining Iredale & Yoo in 2019, Chelsea has helped secure multiple seven- and eight-figure settlements for the families of victims (including those of Elisa Serna, Frankie Greer, and Michael Wilson) who died in San Diego County jails as the result of staff neglect and indifference to medical needs. Holding Customs and Border Patrol, Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and other federal officers accountable for abuse, Chelsea has led and contributed to wins in the Villalobos and Castellanos cases.

Chelsea’s successful claim on behalf of a woman sexually assaulted by prison staff at the notorious FCI Dublin became part of the largest aggregate settlement in BOP history. She lectures on using the Federal Tort Claims Act as a tool for federal government accountability.

Chelsea played basketball in college. She loves traveling and has visited 28 countries.
